50,000 Acres and Counting!

Mountain Photo
In 2006, Blue Ridge Forever launched an ambitious campaign to protect 50,000 acres of our spectacular mountain landscapes within five years. Despite numerous obstacles, including the economic downturn, we succeeded!

Click here to read about a few of the projects protected during the campaign.

While the campaign's success is a critical milestone, the coalition's members know their work is far from over. Many important places in the Blue Ridge Mountains are still at risk of development. Going forward, Blue Ridge Forever's land trusts will continue working to achieve their Conservation Vision of protecting natural resources, including forests, streams, farms, wildlife habitat and scenic vistas in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains.

You can help by supporting your local land trust.
